2019’s Good Friday ❤ Easter

It was a busy weekend. That’s the caption for our Good Friday/Easter slideshow.

Our babies who were just getting the “walking thing” together at Christmas were doin it full throttle  during this family gathering.  Miss Avery was adding her beautiful voice to the mix! Jared and Paige’s little girl is blossoming and coming into her own .

A VERY pregnant Ashley made it for the egg hunt. She is doing well and ready to deliver the boys! She sends her thanks to everyone for their prayers during her hospital stay just before this GF/E holiday.

We had some of our regular faces in the crowd, along with some new ones. Latonya’s handsome son, Khalil joined us for Good Friday.

As usual, Emick Jr did an outstanding job on the boiled delicacies. Yum Yum

Jared said this was his 1st time frying . He kept a close eye on the timing for each side of the catfish. They came out just wonderful Big J.

What can I say. I’m a humble genius!!

Taylor finally got time off on Good Friday. She had to take a turn at frying fish as well!

Animal lover teasing crawdads!
Jaylen’s dad was the favorite uncle. He pushes us really high…
My 1st attempt at writing with icing! Negative comments will be addressed later . They started cutting into this deliciousness before I could get my picture. Choc-marble, dang that was good! Thanks Ren!!
Eron is SERIOUS about eating boiled crawfish!
Dominoes game goin on. Just for fun, no bills on the table!
Crawfish anyone?
Murph, Mary (his aide) and JoAnn enjoying the day.
Eli looks like he is just chillin, Erron has ideas going through his mind…… the plot thickens!
Amanada is keeping her eye of the cooks!

All in All, we had a blast! Ate ourselves silly. Enjoyed the company of family. A very enjoyable Good Friday at the Price Homestead!

Then came, Easter Sunday. The crazy came out to play again!!

We had food (duh!), Egg Hunt Prizes (every year it gets better), the Egg Hunt (with a Grand Prize Winner), oh, and more sweets to eat! We have a theme going, I know.

Paul was there with his wife Marissa and her kids Landon & Maddie. Felton (our super tall neighbor) brought his kids; Felton Jr, Lily, Anna and Landon. Ashley (a very pregnant Ashley) arrived with Kenleigh, Arianna, Jordan and Jacee. Along with our bunch Jaylen, Jonah, Avery, Erron , Eli and Ean. The Egg Hunt was a success!

Jaylen was our Grand Prize Winner! Yeah, Jaylen!!! Judson’s “eagle eyes” had very little to do with this win. Jaylen was focused!

I’ll just post some of the shots I took & edited with some info/thoughts. Have a look see!

Rena out did herself with this cake!

Everyone had a fun weekend. Not too many tears. Congratulations to Jaylen and all our little egg hunters. Be Blessed and see you all next year.

Black History Now

Yes, I ment now. Every time we take a step with our voice or our actions it is another paragraph, page, and in some instances chapter in the story of Us. The History of Black People in America is updated daily. It is good to see our young people Honoring our Past through celebrations and reflections in the Present creating a brighter Future for all.

Ean and Eli participated in a Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr’s life and accomplishments.

Yep, this nugget of history a little late due to additional life happenings! C’est la vie!

Job well done guys😘

Jaylen’s First Birthday

Judson and Alettie celebrated Jaylen’s First Birthday at the Lafayette Children’s Museum on Saturday, February 9th.

The little ones ran around experiencing fun activities at the museum. Jay was entertained by Pappa Teddy while the party room was being decorated by his parents, aunt and Grandma Martha! His cake was a masterpiece of Love because it was made by his mom. Excellent job on the cake Lettie! Her talents are limitless. I’ll just let some of the pictures give you a look at the festivities!

Party Prep Squad!

Jay’s Guests… They are soooo Cute

Happy 1st Birthday Jaylen! With a ton more to come, all with Blessings, Smiles and Love.

Avery’s First Day of School

Avery has taken her first dip into the “Pool of Eucation! Yea, she has started school! Way to go Miss Avery. She is attending Asbury. Papa Teddy and GranMa Martha were there for her first day!

Here are a few candid shots. You know you always take pictures on the first day! Remember yours…

Welcome to the Joys of Learning Avery! We Love You…

Toddler Time At The Museum

You’re never too young or too old to appreciate art! The first Wednesday of February, Avery and Jonah got a taste of something different, Toddler Time at the museum!

What is Toddler Time you may ask? The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Hillard Museum offers Toddler Time. Parents and their children explore a work of art, enjoy story time, and participate in a hands-on art project. Activities are geared towards children ages 18 months – 4 years. Guests are welcome to explore the museum after the program. Toddler Time is free to attend.

GranMa Martha and Ms. Dianne brought their little charges, Avery, Jonah and Piper to the museum for some “artistic fun”! Looks like they had a BLAST!

Miss Avery Hosts Playdate

Our Miss Avery recently had fun playing Hostess at her first held at her home. Two little girls with whom she is acquainted were invited. Jonah was in attendance, just to see what all this “girl noise” was about.

Avery served her guest chicken salad, crackers, and boudin. Pink lemonade was their drink of choice. For dessert, “cookies”! The activities included coloring, putting puzzles together, ABC learning on her tablet and counting how many jumbo crayons momma had. They concluded the playdate by cleaning up A’s room (where the fun had been going on!). Avery was hesitant to let her little friends leave and have the girl fun come to an end.

Jo was not impressed with the goings-on. He was just ready for some more peace and quiet with only one girl, not three!

We are happy your playdate went so well Avery. Hugs and Kisses to our little Miss.

Caught in the Quiet of God

An excellent reminder to give God more of our time. I’m passing this post on to you, my family. We shouldn’t just “know God” when life is kicking out butts!

Love & Hugs

There have been a great many stories of conversion throughout the history of the Catholic Church. In fact, just recently we listened in Mass to the reading of the conversion of St. Paul. The entire reading can be found in the Acts of the Apostles 9: 1-22. And although it is quite dramatic, the kind of earth shaking conversion that rocked St. Paul, isn’t the kind that most of us will experience … but  our conversion towards God will be grande none the less. And in order to ensure that we don’t get knocked flat on our backs, we need an openness to His Will  and an ear for His voice…. in every circumstance of our lives.

What exactly is an ear for the voice of God, you might ask. Well, it is the quieting of your soul. It is the pause that listens for the breath of God…
