Sweet baby Jaylen has received his first Sacrament! On Saturday, July 7th at St Paul’s Catholic Church after the 4pm Mass, Jaylen was baptized.
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit , the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from Original sin and reborn as sons (and daughters) of God. “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.”
Jayen’s Godparents are Jules and Taylor. No guys not our Taylor. Alettie has a BFF who is also named Taylor (there’s another set of parents out their with such creativity in choosing a child’s name! I like really like them 🙂 ). FYI- LPP previously posted Jared as “The Godfather” – correction made to reflect Jules has that position. Jared was a “Fill-in”. Good job Jared, played like an original 🙂 🙂 !!
Grandparents, aunts and cousins from both sides were present to welcome this little one into the Catholic faith. After the ceremony we all gathered at BJs Restaurant & Brewery. God’s Blessings were on us all this day!
Our family hostess, Marthaline, along with her hubby Teddy put on a spread July 1st. We were celebrating the July 4th holiday as well as the Baptisms of Jonah and Jaylen, and the birthdays of Maddy and Avery.
The food was delicious, of course! We started off with Mimosas, yum… Those boudin balls were so good, a little spicy – but the tastebuds could always use a little kick. Everyone was wowed by this layered green salad Martha put together, too beautiful to eat (ugh, but we did eat it – hee hee hee!).
Jamal came with his new lady friend. Her name is Latonya and she is a nurse. She is a beautiful, intelligent young woman with a warm heart. She joined us for the Good Friday Easter celebration however, I haven’t posted some of that gathering stuff. I want to say, Welcome to our “playgroup” Latonya! This was your second dip in the family mix and you fit in perfectly.
Everyone had a great time and left with a FULL tummy. Thanks Martha and Teddy, it’s always a pleasure to spend time at Critter Creek!
Maddy has been developing a range of arts & crafts skills over the past few years. She has taken classes in her new home state of Texas. A few of her works from this year include –
Today she hosted an Arts & Crafts Party for a few of her special friends in Lafayette.
She made cupcakes for “Cupcake Decorating”, they look yummy! A little info about their Host and a Welcome to her event was printed up and framed to display in her tablescape. Let’s just say, the years of seeing how her Grandma Martha and mom Paige put on a party has not been wasted on this young lady!
With her tables set up for the art projects and tasty crafts, Maddy’s affair was ready to go!
Maddy’s friends arrived and got right to work having fun and sampling the goodies! Even Miss Avery got in on the fun! Mixed Media is an excellent form of art which has always been a hit with young adults.
It was an Awesome Event. Excellent job Hostess Maddy! We Love You.
Just a quickie. Taylor made Creme Brulee y’all! She was so proud of not setting the bar on fire. Chefs say it’s easy, but for a beginner that was a lot of whisking during the cooking of the creme. Heat to almost boil but don’t let it boil – during cooking. Really.
She did it. Proud of my daughter. Tastes delicious.
